HYP is taking a hike! Join us at the trailhead of Trout Creek Canyon (Vigilante Campground) at 11:00 am for a gentle hike in one of the most interesting areas in the Big Belt Mtns. The trail is approximately 3 miles each way (six miles total) with a gentle elevation gain. Afterwards we will meet up at the York Bar for a late lunch.
Drive Time: It takes around 45 minutes from Helena to the campground, so plan accordingly!
Caravan: If you are unfamiliar with the area, meet up at Scenic Brew to carpool and/or caravan to the trailhead. We will leave at 10:10 but a few of us will be at the coffee shop earlier to fuel up and organize rides. Please show up before 10:10 if you plan to carpool or caravan.
Things to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water, and sunscreen.
Weather: Current projections indicate temperatures around 60 degrees and sunny. Rain expected in the afternoon, but we should be back well before then.
