Helena Young Professionals is helping United Way of the Lewis and Clark Area recruit volunteers to conduct the annual Point In Time survey January 28th, from 4:30pm to 9:30pm. This survey is used to count homeless community members to support housing development plans and determine federal funding for the state of Montana for housing and related services. Volunteers will be provided surveys, divided into pairs, and sent to designated areas to help complete surveys with homeless individuals. It is ok if volunteers have never worked with the homeless.
The areas in Helena that volunteers will go to will be divided and finalized when the date of the survey gets closer. Further details will be provided in an information zoom meeting on January 27th. Surveys will largely be conducted at outdoor locations. However, it is still expected that everyone will take proper precautions like maintaining social distance, wearing masks, and using hand sanitizer.
If you have any further questions or to sign up, please email United Way's Community Impact Coordinator Jeff Buscher at jeff@unitedwaylca.org. Also note in your e-mail to sign up if you are with HYP and he will try to pair you up with a fellow young professional.
