Meet Jillian, our Recreational Chair on the board of Helena Young Professionals!

What do you do for work and what is your slash (aka what do you do in your free time)?

Currently, I am a Territory Manager for Epicor Software Corporation. I sell ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software to manufacturers in the Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. For fun, you can find me trail running and up for any activity that involves being outdoors and adventurous. I also enjoy exploring new places, cooking, and I am looking to try some woodworking courses this fall and winter.

How did you land in Helena?

I met my husband skiing at Discovery Mtn. in 2010. I was in Butte at the time and he lived in Bozeman. After a short hiatus back to Denver, we decided to make Montana home and moved back to Bozeman in 2016. I have the ability to work remotely and he is an architect. A great job opportunity appeared in Helena for his work so we decided to make the move to Helena. We have loved living here for the past three years and making Helena our home.

What is the best piece of advice that you ever received – career-related or otherwise?

I'm reminded of Mr. Showen, my 9th-grade geography teacher who always told us "Knowledge is Power".

When do you feel the most yourself?

Whenever I am in a social environment! I am very comfortable talking to people I've never met before and enjoy meeting new people.

Where is the last place you explored and where do you want to explore next?

Cabo San Lucas was the last place we explored prior to COVID but in Montana this past weekend we explored the S. Boulder River Road in the Tobacco Root Mountains. We had fun fishing, cooking, and camping in our rooftop tent.

Tell us something about yourself that we didn’t ask:

Post-college and pre-career, my best friend and I embarked on an around the world trip with just our backpacks and wit. We went to Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, and India. We were supposed to go to Hong Kong and Japan but ran out of money.
